Happy 50th::: Want free stuff?

More on the note of recycling......A favorite pitcher that broke in half finds new life in the garden.. A little picture of a pitcher of flowers. Pitcher Perfect. The rain is pounding outside as I type this, it is a beautiful hard rain that soaks the earth. Mary Mary quite contrary, How does your garden grow? With silver bells and cockle shells And pretty maids all in a row. I love the rain especially when thunder and lightening accompanies it. Even after the tornado that devastated our town four years ago I still get a rush from weather. On to the free stuff:: This is my 50 th post. 50 50 50 I posted 50, read in a sing song fashion please hehe . Quite an accomplishment for me as I have been at this blog for nine months. Apparently, I don't have a whole lot to say. Nonetheless, it seems a reason to celebrate. So in what has become traditional blog fashion I am going to have a little drawing. I find myself with an abundance of trim that I would like to share. Also one lucky winn...

Amish Friendship Bread

Has anyone made this ? I have and thought I would make it again. I would love to share the starter with you but since I cannot put it through my hard drive -I hear that is not a good idea- I thought I would share the recipe link . This is a great bread and there are so many ways you can bake it up:: poppy seed, chocolate, banana. Plus, -as an added bonus- once the initial ten days are up you will always have it on hand to make a loaf when un-expected guests show up. Then you share it with friends and neighbors. Here is a little more information to help explain the starter for anyone who had never done this. Let me know if anyone wants to join me!

Pink Coffee Filter Heart Wreath

Hmmm Pink Coffee filter you say... Yes pink and a little brown. I had intended to make this little idea before Valentines Day but alas, time had better plans. So I made it for Presidents day. I thought I would show you how to make your own. It is quite a peachy process and oh so easy. The first thing is to prepare a colored dye concotion. I was going to use tea, which is what I usually use when I want to dye muslin but I did not have any african redbush, which makes the prettiest color. I had to improvise. I put on my thinking cap for this and reached for food coloring. So, some hot water some food coloring and a little coffee went into the pot. About 6 drops or so. The filters will be lighter then the water. Next, take a bunch of filters and stick them in the dye- all together. I put some in and let them sit for five minutes or so.
