Crafting old crafting new

Thanks for all your kind comments on my last post. For some reason I have not received the e-mailed version of the comments so I did not reply to anyone- something I like to do if an e-mail addy is provided. And yes, I am still in school, I have a year to go before I start student teaching!! Yay Yay Yay It has been a long 5 years.

I will admit it, I love Valentines Day. Yes, the all the flowery romantic business perpetuated by Hallmark, flower and other retail stores is fine but it is not the true reason I love it. No the reason I love it has to do with the interjection of pinks and reds and hearts and candy in the middle of a cold and white winter season. It is the last winter holiday and is a tease that spring is right around the corner. With all these spring colors how could it not be so?

Okay, I am also hopeless romantic at heart and a huge sucker for hearts and spouting love and all those perpetuated notions of Valentines Day.
~The above table runner I made about 10 years ago when my twins were just babies. The quilting shows my inexperience but makes me smile when I think of how far I have come!

The banner I eeked out last weekend and spells out FEBRUARY. I am pretty happy with how it turned out but think I need to applique around the letters so they pop out better.

I love the mushroom fabric of the Y.

For the universe, I just want to say that I would like a treadle sewing machine. (wink wink grin)
To the readers who have a happy, romantic, cheery, pink, sweet and lovely Valentines Day.

Aw, love that little heart table runner. And your banner is pretty cool too. I've been sewing buttons on hearts all week :)

I like the runner. Not a big fan of Valentine's Day but I love the crafts.
