Happy Feet

After I made these slippers, the recipient ordered a pair for her grandmother.

The second time around went even better than the first and I find I really enjoy making these. Even better, my niece brings her pair with her and when she enters a home, taking off her shoes, she puts the slippers on. I would love to have a basket of them by my door. Some pretty new carpet would help as well. It seems 10 years of wear, young children, a dog and cat have done little to keep the white carpet that was in the house when we bought it, white.

With the slippers I included a sachet/shape holder that is stuffed with antibacterial bamboo stuffing and organic lavender flowers that smell delightful.

And put the happy little slippers in their own special flannel lined shoe bag.

Babies Everywhere

Two of my nieces have had babies in the last month. So I was busy making gifts. Above is an I Spy bag filled with trinkets to find.

For the back I used a new product I had not tried before,
it is a printable cotton by Avery.

I made the car for my great nephew for Christmas.
The printable cotton worked really well and I don't have to
not forget to reverse my image as with an iron on.

I found the onsie tutu at Target and bought each great niece one so they could wear them together. I wanted socks to go with but could not find what I wanted.

So I bought plain white socks and added black lace and rickrack. It was really easy and I think they turned out spectacular. I hope the recipients are happy.

Happy Easter Sunday!

Milk Glass in the Rough

Today I student taught solo for the first time. The day went well, no major issues and for that I am thankful. I can say that I am exhausted, teaching takes a lot of emotional stamina.

I had hoped to have another pair of slippers done to show off but alas they are still next to my machine in an almost done state. Planning for teaching had to happen therefore, creating could not. Hopefully this weekend. I am excited to be 'pinning' I love this site and have waited patiently to be accepted  and now I am. This is a warehouse of inspiration and I have only begun to tap into it. It is a great place to go for a quick pick-me-up. Have a great week.

The title....yeah just random like the picture.
